I was born April
1973 in Winston- Salem North Carolina. I grew up with
creative parents and family that supported growth in
music and fine art. In 1991 I attended school in Colorado
Springs, CO. While there, I dabbled in filmmaking and
theater a bit, but still had no serious attraction to
the arts. During the following year, I worked for a
leather smith (Eric Hodges) whom enticed me to create
silver Native American style conchos for the bags. That
meager introduction to metalsmithing changed my whole
life.
- Over the last 13 years
I have studied and practiced goldsmithing. I have unearthed
a passion for the art of making things through the processes
of hand forging and fabricating. I find inspiration
in nearly every aspect of my life. My jewelry is recognized
for the marked use of cubic raw diamonds. By contrasting
unique materials and concepts, a wearable and accessible
work of art emerges. Stylistically, my designs fall
between the realms of fine jewelry and art jewelry.
I transform gold and diamonds into objects that challenge
social perceptions about significance and beauty. Formulaic
repetition juxtaposes raw diamonds with their cut and
faceted siblings. “What is precious or ideal?”
This question remains the driving force behind my personal
mad fantasy to build the precious. The results are contradictions
of wonderful contrast.

- As well as the honor
of receiving many top industry awards, my work has been
featured in more than a dozen magazines, books, and
collections around the world. Currently, the finest
galleries, museums, and exhibits of fine jewelry in
the United States and abroad represent my work.
